Hyperborea is a region in the North geographical area, roughly equivalent to today's Finland, Russia and Baltic countries. Hyperborea is a matriarchal magocracy, being ruled by female withes of great arcane power; it is this power that has kept the country safe despite its lack of resources and relatively small army. Hyperborea is a sworn enemy of Aquitania, due to an old grudge with Amra the Lion.
