Friar Bardolf (born 1265) is a Gallo-Norman who follows the Celtic Rite. He is a member of the Judicators, the Wolf Stalkers, and the Dominican Friars.
Bardolf was born in the village of St. Lo during a snow storm on the first day of spring. This storm is said to have been a harbinger of the looming Winter Wars that started in 1264. When Bardolf was 5 or 6, he was sent to the Earl of Poissy, Lord Atterbury, to be trained as a squire. However, Bardolf was always drawn to study and religion and eventually found himself becoming a Friar of St Cuthbert.
Bardolf joined the Judicators in 1283. In 1284, he was with Sir Alexandre Godart when Godart liberated Aldane. Bardol then wandered Normandy until 1285, when he took up study at the Abbey of St Jean and St Arn in Leuze, Flanders.
Bardolf is a studious investigator of ecclesiastical histories, mysteries and lore. His only full time companion is his Ardennes Forest Hound, Gwir; his other companions include Sir Godart, Bri, Jai, Arrango, and a fellow squire named Marceau. He is the mortal enemy of Sir Kessik and his two squires, Julian Ascot and Philip Mesney.
Bardolf is one of six children, with three surviving. His mother is also alive, though his father died in battle.
Played by Horseman.
