Sir Alexandre Godart (born 1264) is a Norman knight born in Pont du Falx, Flanders. He is the son of Ranulf Godart, son of Gorvin Gladhand, son of Almador. He is played by davwalp.
The Godart family was split up following the disgrace of his father and young Alexandre was sent to live with his uncle, Baron Bernard Dufour of Rouen. Dofour did not like Godart, but was his godfather and would follow his vows to look over the child. Alexandre received the bare minimum in training, but was awarded no equipment and was made to live with the stableboys, grooms, pages and the Horsemaster. He learned a great deal from this environment, but was considered and outcast amongst the nobles. When he came of age and completed his training, he set out on his own as a Knight Errant, penniless and without arms.
After many trials and tribulations, Alexandre is finally a landed knight in his own right. In recognition of his valor and temerity in seizing and holding the critical village of Aldane, he was named Knight of Clegan Moor by the Lord Earl Morwith; however, the majority of the fief still lies in the hands of the enemy.
Whether on the battlefield or in the village green, Alexandre holds the ideals of honor and chivalry above even his own life. He has never forgotten his humble beginnings and frequently rewards his followers on merit alone, sometimes disproportionate to their station. Most notably, he has appointed a common soldier, Sergeant Guthlac, as the sensechal of his fief; he has also knighted a woman, the Lady Jenay of Caerweddthyn, over the protests of his men.
Alexandre is currently commanding the Aube River campaign in league with the Bellovaci woodsmen, among whom he is known as the Elfspear.
